Sons of Lur: We go North

"Well?"
"Well what?" Colum allowed the dust to drain through his fingers, dried blood and earth feathering away in the breeze.
"Are you with us?"
Colum looked hard at the tolerated blonde northerner and tilted his head away. His spit splatted wetly on the ground, a drop of moisture that was drained away by the thirsty earth. He watched it fade away, dimming until the ground was as it had been; old blood, earth, grit. Then he raised his eyes and shrugged. "Do I have a choice?"
"Did you ever have a choice?" The younger one, the one they had found on the battlefield, snapped and Ifan swallowed the urge to pound the arrogant pup into the ground. But the older brother, the one Alecto had greated with a hug followed by a fist, stayed his hand. The younger had some steel about him and Ifan did not yet want to test that blade.
"Make up your mind" He snarled. "Stay or go, it makes no difference to me. Your debt is paid. You are no longer required"
Silence descended until their breathing became defening. Then, almost as if he were speaking his thoughts aloud, Colum announced
"I still have a place here. I go"
"Good" The older brother turned to Ifan, teethed bared in a blood hungry grin. "So we go north?"
"We go north"
