My last post gathered very little stuff, so Writing Monday's over on Wolfish Written have gone back to general writing rambling. I'm hoping to have some more things later in the Summer when all my current stuff is out of way. I'm beginning to get tired of working at my computer, so sitting down to work on Sons of Lur is just not happening (though the ideas keep coming).
My birthday has given loads of books to read, particularly the Song of Ice and Fire series that has just come to Sky Atlantic (ee!). Because I don't get Sky but a family member does, I have to wait a bit before I get any episodes to watch when I go round to theirs, so I've been keeping myself busy between work with the books instead. I've found them to be really good to read during work, though I'm sure I'll get into them when I can indulge for days at a time.
Speaking of birthday, I bought some new things for my 3D graphics software, so hopefully you'll be seeing more dragon related things soon.

I have an itch to do crafty things the other day, so set to cutting the fabric for Lord A384's character trousers in the evening. I then spent the next day working on them and have almost finished them - just buttonholes to make and the other leg to hem before finishing off the facing. They were suprisingly easy to work with once I got them cut out (so need a decent table to cut on rather than the floor. I miss the table we had at the other house) and figured out the pinning. Photos to follow and hopefully some more once we get out daytime adventuring.
The next projects I'm thinking about is making a proper costume for Mercy Blackstaff - skirt, shirt and bodice ready for Summerfest. I found that wearing my current get up is lovely and warm during the winter under my black robe and cloak, but a little weighty when we start running, so a little less skirt hiking and a lighter garb might be better nearer the summer. If we keep with the current weather then I'll be a happy little healer.
Our LARP branch has been busy recently running the monthly day and nightsites for the members and I've been out adventuring and crewing in turn. We had a really good one the other weekend, though it did get bitterly cold towards the middle of the night and we weren't running enough to quite get rid of the chill. Cold also affects the weapons, so towards the end I got a little wimpy and started to complain when I got wacked (though I still say getting pummeled on the ribs required it - those really hurt!).
In other news I finally have a staff, bought off a society member, and feel stupidly proud of having a bit of latex "wood" kicking around my work room.
